March 9th Stoughton

Dear Doris

While waiting for my iron to heat I will begin my letter to you. This has been a busy week. I have got the night dresses all done now. Lena went down town in the evening and got some more cloth of a little better quality to make the combinations and so perhaps by the end of the week you may get the bundle. and you will find a miscellaneous collection, but as I have refurbished them a bit so perhaps you will be able to wear them. Well this is a north easter and it is cold as winter out. Lena has got up and she and Pa are everlastingly gobbling so it bothers me about writing this letter. Your Sunday letter did not reach me till Thursday night and I worried more than a little for fear your vaxnation was making you sick so went down to Blakes and while there (Tuesday night) Sundays letter came and she read it to me, and that said nothing about your being sick so that was something consoling. Dennis Toomey had an absess [[abscess]] taken out & with a trained nurse he is convaleseing slowly at his home. I cannot imagine a Toomey going to a hospital for an operation.
