Last Sunday about half past five it began to thunder and the rain came so fast the gutters could not carry it. the rain was the hardest about you ever saw and Monday was rainy. Tuesday I took the half day and started for Boston and in Raymonds I found after pulling over a lot of Suits a good one for 13.50 much too good for Steve I had to have the pants cut off and taken in at the waist so I am clothed for the winter. Today and yesterday afternoon it is raining. I have got the Barn in shape. This morning I took a bag of Pears down to Jack Wayland we picked your mother and I each Friday nearly four of my store basketful of [[chops?]] so we shall have more than we can use.
