Sunday Noon after dinner

Dear Doris—

This is a stormy day Pa is talking to the dog and combing him, he makes more of him than ever if possible— My washing is all hanging on the line waiting for the sun to dry them. Charles Drake is digging his potatoes and finds them rotting bad from so much rainy weather, great large potatoes, front of the house, on new land, where he would have had a nice crop, too bad. I must look at mine, after the rain stopps [[stops]]. We have supplied Mr Rings with cucumbers summer squash and corn which he seems very thankful for poor man. he has been everlastingly soaked ever since he began his house and we pity the poor man for he seems an honest person though sort of thick headed. I am going over to Abbies now with my Jackets and we have good times Louisa Johnson, Georgie Briggs and Tina Tompson have come in and they laugh and seem to enjoy our nonsence [[nonsense]]
