Saturday night after eating supper

Dear Doris

Isn't it dreadful down there where you are I don't see how you can stand such heat, we thought it pretty bad here in the ninties but it would cool off most always at night. I think you'd better come home so to get rid of it why dont you come. Lena is stretched out in the bay window with her neck aching like everything she painted it with iodine before and it stopped but this time it made it blister so she had to wash it off again its funny what makes it she gets discouraged sometimes. I am waiting for yarn today its nice and cool and I have done lots of house work that I neglected while it was so hot. Lena and I have just sat down and eaten another supper, now she has just started down town to mail some letters it bids fair to be a good day tomorrow the thermometer is 60° the foliage is nice and fresh since yesterdays shower the gardens are coming back since the dry time we have had shell beans several times and can have another mess tomorrow. The golden glow was never as tall as this year
