                                Sunday noon
Dear Doris
As I am waiting for Pa to come home to [[?]]
(he is down to Allies house on the Jones estate business they are trying to settle up before he goes to Florida the 14th of this month to live) I will scribble a few lines to let you know we have not forgotten you my thoughts are with you constantly and wondering if you are careful you know you went through a summers work that you were never used to, now do look out and not get a weakness onto your self while you are young, for our bodies have got to do us through this life and the only way we can enjoy life is by keeping well, no matter for the money making that comes second, get something easy. Lena has just hung out her clothes, and has roasted some chestnuts, and is now reading it seems good to have her here with us today its lovely sunny day and not any too cool for comfort this has been a terrible muggy week on the whole, too warm for the time of year, every body felt uncomfortable its better now the day is just perfect leaves here as all gone all but the oaks.
