Corriggidor [[Corregidor]] P.I.

May 12 - [[99?]]

Dear Friend Arthur:

Your letter of Mar 3rd reached me last night. I can't tell you how glad I am to hear from you. A letter from home away out here in this Godforsaken country, is invaluable, and is medicin [[medicine]] for the blues and a prevenitive of that dread and sometimes serious deasease [[disease]] home sickness.

I want to say a word about our Reg: There are a great many facts that are not sent home for publication. There are some facts sent home for news that are absolutely false.

There is not a man in this Reg. below the rank of Lueit [[Lieut]] that would not give all he has or hopes to have to get out of here.
