It is some time since I read the announcement of Doris' marriage but I have not yet recovered from my surprise. I rec'd a nice letter from her just before I went to Georgia but there was no hint of anything so interesting as a wedding. She did tell me about her position at Bedford Hills - in fact wrote me from there and

to take part in such an awful war. It is terrible Every one here is working hard in relief work Red Cross &c. The last Red Cross drive here was a business. Our quota was $500,000, and the city & county raised nearly or quite $900 000. Wasn't that fine - I would like to write to Doris so dont forget to give me her address.
