I have the honor to request that transportation be furnished John Henderson and Nine {9} others, destitute Freedmen, from Meridian Miss to Jackson Miss, by rail.
This transportation is necessary to prevent suffering and to secure employment for the Freedmen, thus relieving the Government of their support.
