Sir:
I have the honor to request that transportation be furnished Peter Nubble and ten {10} others, destitute Freedmen, from Meridian Miss to Lauderdale Miss, by rail.

This transportation is necessary to prevent suffering and to secure employment for the Freedmen, thus relieving the Government of their support.
