Can't you put a teaspoon or half - whichever he needs - of the rochelle salts in his drink at every meal - then you wouldn't have to fight to get him to take them. I did that when I was there at first, and he never knew the difference. The rochelle are so mild they don't spoil the taste of his coffee or tea. If he should have a movement after every meal, he would feel better. 

I am more sorry than I can say for both of you. Mrs. Pettengill thinks it is worse for you than for him. It is so sad to have him so unhappy, though, - a person who deserves to be just the other way. I think that you are wonderful.
