yours in the picture with him where you too are smiling. They were all overexposed, I guess. I may learn how to use the camera sometime, but at present it is put away.

Leila came out last Saturday. She got here about twelve and stayed until about quarter of eight. She telephoned later to say she got home all right. It was a good thing she got back before the storm started. I had a stuffed fowl, baked potatoes, onions, squash, cranberry jelly, apple, and mince pie for dinner and in the after-noon we made and pulled some molasses candy, and she did some mending she brought with her too. She spoke of the time you were both in Wilmington and of how nice you were to call her on the telephone, and then come in to see her. She has kept a little three-room place up there to go to whenever she feels like it.

I am ever and ever so glad that you have Maud and Ralph and other good friends to help you out in these trying days. Could I help if I came out for a week or so or would my coming make things harder for you both?

The best of wishes to you both!

Love,
Lena.
