Dear Mrs. Holmes:

Your letter written over a month ago, and the one you forwarded some days ago both reached me safely, but I am, as usual, behind in getting one off to you. I have a fairly good excuse this time, however, for I have not been feeling very well. I have not been in the store for about 8 weeks. I was at Jimmie's the first week I was out, then in the hospital about 4 and here with Mrs. Att in Boston for "johnnies' of more in the hospital.
I hope you have kept well and that you have been enjoying the birds and flowers.
I wish I knew Mary's address. I wonder if she has been out to see Mrs. Legge likely she probably knows it.
Is Mrs. Barry keeping well? I hope so I can imagine the show she was in was good. I am glad you have such a jolly companion. It certainly makes life more enjoyable for you.

Now good night.
Love,
Lena
