Dear Mrs. Holmes:

We shan't be writing 1940 much longer, shall we?

I wanted to let you know I received the letter you forwarded O.K. I hope you have not worried about it. I have been busy and not very well, and, as usual, have not done many things I should like to do. Your present may even be late this year. A package from Doris came, yesterday - not opene. Merry Christmas if I don't get a regular card off to you.
