Dear Mrs. Holmes,

Your good letters came a week ago, and I was glad to learn that all was going as well with you folks as they were. 

Of course it seems quiet to you after the upset of the last two years and nine months. I guess Doris has provided enough work to keep you employed for a while, though, unless, as she says, you plunge into it too strenuously.

I suppose, too, you have been able to get out on the porch some of these fine days, and perhaps you have some seeds planted.
