This agreement made and entered into this 23 day of June A. D. 1865 between R.K. Pickett of the first part and the undersigned of the second part - the party of the first part agrees to feed and cloathe [[clothe]] the parties of the second part with sound & substantial food & clothing & medical attendance for the current year; and in consideration thus for the parties of the second part do hereby agree and bind ourselves each respectively to work and labour for said party of the first part faithfully on his plantation in the County and State aforesaid for the want of team said party of the first part being unable to plant but a few acres of any commercial crop & this thus planted with a view to purchase winter clothing & shoes for our selves and families -
