Articles of agreement made & entered into this 28th day June eighteen hundred & sixty five between F. B. Johnston and the folowing named Freedman. John Silvy Newman Mariah Cynthia Betsy Eliza Thornton Creed Peter Edmund Billy. Witneseth that that the Said F.B. Johnston agrees to and with said Freedmen that for and in consideration of their good conduct & faithful discharge of duty during the past part of the present year to furnish the said Freedmen quarters good and wholeson food clothing and medical atention &c for the balance of the present year as heretofor to give them ten acres Corn twenty bushells potatoes and allow them all their paches as they may desire to allow them Saturday evenings and holidays as usual except in necesary cases when they are required to perform some thing unavoidable on the place. To take care of the children belonging to said Freedman when they perform their duty faithfully. We the said Freedman agrees to and with the said F.B. Johnston that we will faithfully execute all orders & directions of the said F.B Johnston to take good care of all stock. tools and every thing on the place where we now reside during the balance of the present year. in the cultivation of and gathering all crops to make any and all improvements on the said place preparatory to the making another crop To study the interest of our employer and the whole place where we no [[now]] reside

What does "Y.O." mean? maybe years old made a list instead of a table __________________________________________________________ I do believe thats what it means. One of them says 'Years of a" so I find it strange that they change it halfway through. Grace could not figure out what to do with ditto marks - placed as though Newman had multiple wives, so just omitted (probably refers back to "Years old" at top of list) note: lack of punctuation, & misspellings please correct table at end if incorrectly formatted
