Agreement with Freedmen.

This agreement; made and entered into this first day of June A.D. 1865 by and between William L. Askew of the County of Lawrence and State of Mississippi, of the first part; and the persons hereinafter named and undersigned Freedmen of the same place, parties hereto of the Second part Witnesseth:

The undersigned laborers on said Askew's Plantation hereby agree to work on said Plantation the balance of the year 1865, in consideration of good and wholesome food, Clothing, quarters, Medical attendance and such other conditions and priveleges as are required by General Order No. 34, Headquarters Department of Miss, March 23rd 1865; and for the following considerations:

In Testimony Whereof, the said parties have affixed their names to this agreement at Monticello State of Mississippi on the day and date aforesaid.
