Wade Lawn Plantation
January 23rd 1865-

Article of agreement made and entered into between L T Wade of the fist [[first]] part and the following named colored labours of the Second part - To wit, L.T. Wade of the first part agrees to pay first class men ($10.00) Ten dollars, and Women ($7.00) Seven dollars per month for the year 1865, and further agrees to furnish said labourers four pounds Pork or Bacon, and one Peck of Corn meal for each hand per week, and as much Land as each hand wishes to cultivate in Vegitables Potatoes &c with team and Tools to cultivate the same. also agrees to let Them raise as much poltry as they please given them Corn to feed said poltry. And we the parties of the second part do agree to Labour on the Wade Lawn Plantation for L.T. Wade five and a half days in each week, reserving  half of every Saturday for ourselves which time we agree to loose and said Wade is not to pay us for any loss time except in bad weather, but only to
