This Agreement. Made this Sixteenth day of June one thousand eight hundred and Sixty five, between John S Irby of the County of Clark and State of Mississippi of the first part, and, Elleck Senior & Lucinda., his wife, and Patrick, & Elleck Junior, & Randall, & Issac & Green, & Mathew., & Cherry, & Ann. & Betty, of the County and State aforesaid, of the Second part
Witnesseth, that the Said party of the Second party, That is Elleck Senior & Lucinda, his wife & Patrick, Elleck Junior, & Randall, & Issac, & Green, & Mathew, & Cherry & Anne, & Betty, has agreed to remain in Service with the party of the first part J.S. Irby as Laborers on his Farm or Plantation. and [[?]] wants and agrees to and with the Said J.S. Irby, of the first part. that they will faithfully, honestly and diligently apply themselves, and perform the duties as laborers on the plantation of the said party of the first part, J.S. Irby, and faithfully obey all the reasonable wishes and commands of the party of the first part, J.S. Irby, for and and during the space of Six months, and one half for the compensation of provisions, Clothing & shoes and Doctors Bills paid as usual. And the Said party of the first part J.S. Irby, covenants with the Said party of the Second part, including the names of the above mentioned, that he will receive them as his Laborers for the time of Six Months & one half as aforesaid and will pay them or furnish them shoes provisions, clothing and pay Doctors Bill,if any should have to be paid, as usual. In witness whereof, we have hereunto set our hands and seals the day and year above written.
