Memorandum of agreement between AL Redditt and the laborers contained in the annexed list for their services for the remainder of the year 1865
The said A L Redditt on his part bargains and agrees in consideration of the services of said laborers from the present date to the 31st day December 1865 to pay to them the said laborers one fifth part of corn and fodder now growing on the said farm of said Redditt to be equitably divided among said laborers according to classification and also to furnish them with houses fuel, food, clothing and medical attendance, and the said laborers on their part bargain and agree to use proper diligence industry & faithfulness in the cultivation of their growing crop on the farm of said Redditt and the gathering and preservation thereof-to do and perform all labor necessary and for the use of said farm-to the proper care of all tools intrusted to them; also to the proper care of all stock of said farm and also to perform any duty devolving on them as true and faithful laborers, as witness our hands and seals this 30 day of June 1865
