At home watching the weather was to go to Sewell today but could not on account of the rain went to Lee & Shep. was told of the Major sending the money to them. Mr Lee being sick nothing could be done as yet

At the State House writing Rain poured when coming home

At the State House Library writing until one Oclock got Randolph of Roanoke from there. Read the Biography of Josiah Quincy par Edmunds Present of a leather bag from Mr Hayden, sewed on Mrs Hare's dress until 12 p.m. Read for Mr. Hayden at this House. Mr Greener spent the afternoon very pleasantly with me. The vote on Andrew Johnson impeachment taken Ross Turnbull and Fessenden of the Rep. side voted for acquittal Shame!
