Wednesday, September 16.

Busy as a bee. Could not stop to think how I felt.
H came from Columbia with Mr Adams. I was at Miss Sophie Mims to try on the dress. Met Will at home when I got there. Pa could not move him one inch. Mr Adams I have not felt yet as though I am to be married tomorrow. W came in the after noon to bring the ring to try. Miss Ellen Humphries met him there. Came back again nearly went to ride with him. [[?]] Mr Adams Amelia Ann & Miss Amanda W. [[??]] slept at home.

Thursday, September 17.

Up by times this morning getting ready. Married by Mr Adams. Very nervous. Left for Columbia. Found it very annoying at Branchville impudent conductor reached C. Elliott & Lee at the depot. A. O. Jones Capt Lottie & Katie Ella Tolland at the house. Quite an ovation. In the evening a grand reception all the State Offices nearly ditto for the members of both Houses a few outsiders. Peter Miller improvised a most amusing wedding song retired about 11 p.m.
