Miss Garland went in town yesterday and bought 3 silk dresses and 4 necklaces, -- $25.00; $16.50; $15.00 and $4.00. She also bought one of her nephews a suit. What else she purchased I don't know; but she has started in well.

She and I bought a half bushel of Buribars (spelling right?) pears. They came yesterday morning. This P.M. we divided them. The man certainly gave us good measure.

I shall probably be out the day of election. if the weather is not too bad.

I had planned to go in town to a celebration at B.U. Wednesday night. The girl from Stoneham whom I invited was sick. Her sister telephoned after I was all ready even to my hat, but it didn't take me long to shed my clothes again. I was sorry to miss the affair, but glad not to have to go out in the bad rain. I don't know whether the others I had invited went or not.

I think that I have strung nothing out about as this as it is possible to, so will say
good-night and all good wishes,

Lena.
