going to impress them with the error of their ways, or at least try to, if I went back again. The teachers in that school, even the young man principal, are all dragged looking even so early in the year. School teaching is no cinch these days. I think that I am well out of it.

I am rather sorry that you didn't feel you can come out here for Thanksgiving, but if you can't, I will come to Stoughton unless something comes up that I don't know of now. I hope that you won't get a turkey, though. They are so large and expensive for a small family.

I did not know anything about Mr. Griffin's death until you wrote about it. Did you know about it when I was out? I am glad that Mrs. Griffin can be so comfortable situated with her two girls.
