out in the sunshine reading these pleasant days. I thought that there would be days later when I couldn't sit out, when I could do sewing etc. inside.

I canned 3 pts. of tomatoes this morning to keep them from spoiling. I thought we could use them later. They are not very ripe, but were rotting. The last of the meat is still with us. We have had it in stew, hash, & meat cakes and meat loaf.  To-night I guess I'll heat up the rest of the hash and make griddle cakes.  

I am glad you got down as well as you did. I suppose you are out joy riding to-day. I hope so.  

Mr. Holmes is eating pretty well for him.

Mr. Ring came over this morning to borrow a ladder after church as he had locked himself out. Mr. Holmes was down in the cellar, so was here to show him where it was.
