Dear Folks:

I am wondering what the matter is that I haven't heard from you since you wrote about Mr.Blake's death. I hope neither of you is sick.

Yesterday morning Mrs. Ott telephoned to know if I would like to go to Randolph with her,the Doctor, and Lawson.to see a house. You know how it rained, but we ate in the car,and so had a good time in spite of the weather. It was provoking to be so near you and not come over. We came as far as Avon too,but we had the real estate agent with us,so had to go back to Braintree with him. We saw one good cottage house, but he wanted $7200 for it,and that is more than they were planning to pay.Mrs.Ott is struck on old-fashioned houses with brick ovens,fire-places, and such like fixings. She also wants seven rooms, not too far out,and within easy reach of the station,on a line where there is good train service. The old Colonial one we saw I did not take to at all,but it was only 5000 dollars or so. The cottage house was in exceedingly good condition, had a good garage connected with it, and an acre or so of land,a hen house, and a number of fruit trees, aswell as a grape vine. I was in hopes to interest them in Jimmie's place, but I am afraid they won't bite there.Jimmie is getting tired of being without a tenant, and going without things she wants.I wish she could sell,or at least rent.

I have got the agency for selling some dresses, and other wear for women.I thought I might come out to Stoughton and try my hand at selling out there if you don't mind.If you do,I shall probably go to New Hampshire for a little while and see what I can do in the smaller places where there are not so many stores as there are around here.I have already sold some, but do not care to sell here in Stoneham. Then too I am waiting somewhat to hear how the orders are liked that I ha_ve already taken. Did Doris' dress that she bought of the Stoneham woman through me arrive ,and did Doris like it?

I may go up to New Hampshire soon to see about a tea room about which I have been corresponding.I am sending out a letter now proposing that the owner let me have it on a percentage basis.I don't know how he will take to the idea.

How is the work going on the road? I hope the new man is beginning to be of some good.I suppose you have had dandelions galore by this time.Ihave bought some very good ones.

It is almost twenty minutes past eight and I have just turned on the lights. As soon as I can get to it now I am going to bed,but there are a number of things to be done yet.Ihaven't been out at all to-day.I intended to go out for a little airing, but have been busy typing almost all day,so didn't get to it.

How is Mrs. Blake,Mort Lamb, and all the other folks? I hope they are getting on well.

All good wishes to you both,

Lena
