Dear Folks,

I planned to write you long before this, but somehow the more time I have the more I spend in other ways. Three days last week we motored to Lake Lyme just after breakfast and got back just in time to cook the peas we shelled in the car coming home. It is about 16 miles from here, and a boys' camp is situated there. John Hollis has been taking swimming lessons. The last two times we were there he tried diving. The first time he wouldn't jump off the wharf at all. The last time that is just about what he did do instead of going in head first. I didn't go
