When it got so dark we couldn't see, we gathered around on the front stoop and Theodore sang songs with occasional chirping accompaniments from the rest of us. Then we came in and close the evening with ginger ale and hymns.

Monday my train was late so I did not get the early train up here but I really hadn't planned on it, so was not disappointed. I took the bus to the North Station, checked my suit case, bought my ticket, and then went to the Charlestown Savings Bank and took out an account. From there I took the elevated back in town, and had my hair cut and nails done (the latter for the first time in my life. I wasn't duly impressed by the method, though, so shall probably continue to officiate
