[14 Feb. 1926] Wednesday Evening, 9 P.M. Oh, but I am sleepy! I didn't go to school to-day. I didn't last Friday either until about 12:30. I had heard whistles in the morning and supposed them ours, but learned when Mr. Emerson called up about 12:00 that it was those of another town. Thursday a taxi came for me and I came home in a hurry. Yesterday we finally got ploughed out past our house; now we are well filled in again and going strong, I hear. Mr. Simons camped in the coal office this morning and finally got a truck to bring him and 500 lbs. of soft coal. He didn't go to work at all. How are you both? I hope you have enough coal and don't try to do too much shoveling. My, but your paths are long! I haven't got over my cold yet.
