Christmas time, he kept busy himself and everybody else in the jump with his dances, etc. I don't see why Berenice thinks she has to do so much for the children. I think she is wearing herself and Theodore all out in catering to their every whim.

Lula was out a week ago last Thursday. She gave me a box of Vermont maple sugar for Christmas and I plan to send you folks a little of it later on. It is fine and creamy. She also gave me a pretty fancy dish and a motto calendar. Miss Garland gave me a clasp for my dress, Berenice gave me a gold-mounted fountain pen, and she and the family gave me $10.00. Doris gave me $5.00. I added $1.00 and got myself a large dictionary I have been wanting. I got the dress from your folks, stationery, handkerchiefs, cookies, and movie from Mrs. Pettengill, 11 pieces of silver, an antique hair chain, a set of hand-made doilies, and a mounted, hand-made gorse from Miss Dawson. (The latter has little jewel boxes compartments). Jimmie gave me a box of home-made candy, Ruth, stamp folder, wash cloths and soap. Jimmie's little niece a pretty hand-made butterfly, comb and mirror case from Jim's daughter, and wreaths from Aunt Cora (I wonder why the latter?) I think Santa treated me pretty well.

Now for the mail box. Be good to yourselves.

Much love,
Lena
