47 Gould St., Stoneham
Thursday, Oct. 30.

Dear Folks:

This is my last Sunday's letter to you, just getting started. If I had the spunk Doris has, I should write in spite of everything, but since it is I, and I was invited out to dinner, I got no letter off.

One of the teachers, Miss Garland, has a regular suite of her own, - living room, kitchen, and bath. She invited me to Sunday dinner with her. She said to come early and spend the day,

as I did last week, and probably may for the rest of the five lessons. I went to the first class and paid my fee of $3.00, worse luck. The man giving it is from Salem Normal. He was not popular there last year, and I think not very engaging here.

When do the polls close next Tuesday? Are they open into the evening so that I could get out after school in time to vote, or should I have to come out Monday night and come back before school Tuesday morning? This last would be hard, for I am supposed to be at school five minutes before eight. To make it safe, I like to be there earlier. Could you drop me a postal?

I hope that you are both well. Teachers' Convention in Boston to-morrow for me.

Best of wishes, Lena.
