just naturally want to sink in my tracks if the thing didn't go off well now - a week from Thursday night. And the next Monday our pageant, celebrating the fiftieth anniversary of the town, comes off.

Last night I had a headache and was in such a condition that I didn't know just what to do, but I wish you could see me this morning. In spite of so little sleep, I never looked better - have even got some color. I hope it holds out.

Eleanor and Mr. Hynes were both out sick yesterday. Melba and Ethel, especially the latter, are trying to help me on the two shows and Mr. Bates came in for a while last night. The other teachers are supposed to help somewhat on the pageant but I don't know just how much two or three will do.

I am glad you are both well. I may get home for the week end but I doubt it. Doris seems to be getting along well.

Love,
Lena
