You should have seen the superior puckering of the mouth, stiffening of the neck and squinting of the eyes as she informed me that just the day before she had answered the letter making another proposition to them and that she would have to wait for an answer before she could tell me anything further.  I said "O' all right!" and went right on with some reports on girls I had to make to her.

By the way, I am back on the calling job again together with my sewing and academic work.  Mornings now, when Miss Rogers is in, I can leave for calls if necessary.  She has too many vocational assistants and yet they need me on the job you see and I learned to-day Miss L. had even spoken to another of our teachers about making her a voc. asst.  The path seems devious.  She drives girls out of school by the way she treats them and then expects us to get them back for her.  I visited one such yesterday

Dear Folks:

The greens came through beautifully and I have them, together with the ones I brought in with me, in water in the sitting room until such time as I shall need some of them for my Christmas packages. 

I have just finished Berenice's bureau scarf to-night.  I think it was a success.  Mrs. Windram has suggested my embroidering her initial on it but I am not going to.  I have worked pretty hard on it as it is.  I am going to make Theodore some candy so perhaps I can get the whole thing
