Berenice wrote and wanted me to come Christmas but I wrote back that I had planned to go with you and that I could go to Stoughton for Thanksgiving too if it was not convenient for her to have me, but that unless I heard from her I should arrive in Williamstown Wednesday 5123.

Mr. Bates tried to pass the buck to me the other day.  I turned him down on a proposition he has twice tried me out with, namely to call on the mother of one of our senior boys who lives across the street from him.  He doesn't want to get mixed up with her, but wants me to.  I told him that I had been the goat for six years and I didn't care to be any longer.  The boy is not doing very well in English but his greatest trouble seems to come in Mr. Bates' classes.

Wednesday after-noon during sewing club, the girls told me that they were coming to school the next day with
