John Hollis and also a little kewpie dressed up in full red tissue paper skirts, - the latter I put on myself.  I also got six other babies, five nursing bottles - latter 1ยข each, a ball and some marbles.  I thought I would send Elizabeth and those New Hampshire children one or two of these little things for a Christmas remembrance.

Last night I went down to S.S. Peirce's to get some light brown sugar for candy for Xmas but found I had to give an order to go with it although it was Canadian sugar.  Got some cocoa, tomato soup, cheese, butter, Wesson oil and cereals and 2 lbs. sugar.  I wanted 4.  It seems horrid I suppose but I thought that I was entitled to it when I eat so very little myself so don't feel very guilty.

I sent John Hollis a pair of mittens and a box of child's stationery for his fourth birthday yesterday and bought some woolen gloves for Berenice.  Candy is for Theodore.

Will you ask Doris when you write if she has the Hudson Hamlet?  I think she probably has.

The baby, John Hollis, is just as dear as he can be.  He will stand watching us eat muffins which he dearly loves and say nothing, but just merely be ever so pleased if
