1387 Commonwealth Ave., Allston
Thursday before Supper.

Dear Folks:

My supper is under way. Muffins out, lettuce prepared, sausage apples and sweet potatoes cooking. Mrs. W. has just come in with liver so it looks as though we were going to have something to eat.

Our gentleman boarder has left for New York temporarily. He thinks he may get back for Monday but away to California for New Year's.

Miss Leadbetter did call me down to see her Monday about that New Jersey position. She is anxious to send somebody and the pay would be extra good I guess. She says so.

Mrs. Cook, mother of the girl Daisy lives with is ill in bed having terrible nose bleeds. The doctor does not seem to tell them what the real trouble is. She has been in bed a week or so now and last night Laura said she was not so well. It looks bad, doesn't it?

I got one more spool of cotton to match what I had so am getting on all right with my bureau scarfs: am glad yours is going so well.

How is business and jackets?

Best wishes to both of you.

Lena.
