Stoughton November 4th 1934

Dear Doris

We had a powerful rain all night it began in the afternoon this morning its clearing the sun peeps out & the fog is fast disappearing. the temperature is around 60° the porch was flooded so I had to sweap [[sweep]] it out the steps do not hold the water since the holes were bored they wont be so icy this winter. Saturday Helen & Mame rode up Mame said they all went to the shore on the cape they took a house in June & came home labor day. Helen was rundown but she looks well now but Mame is terribly bloated a bad symptom at her time. they did not say much about Ethel they were going to Jacks & to Ethel Jackman's to call. Mame said Lola died of cancer suffered terribly she heard through Canton folks. a
