Dear Doris,

We have had a hot day but last night the wind got back into the NW again so to day I am wearing my sweater again in order to be comfortable. there is not much sun either.

Mrs Rayehard has just been to see me about the tree business. she spoke of Winnies liking to get rid of the trees & saying Mr Holmes when living would not object to giveing it away. Winnie probably was speaking one word for her & two for herself. any way they fix it it does not interest me much. but this place is fast growing into woods. & it needs some one to thin out some sooner or later. Alice is going to move she has got a house somewhere off near Leach street $30. a month three bedrooms & hard wood floors. quite a ways to Percies factory, but a man opposite his house works there & has a car so he can ride with him. in this way she may get rid of her "cousin Hattie". I will speak to her about the sled. Myrtie is back again & at work at the same old job.
