Dear Folks,
A lovely day, good air & sunny. yesterday I think a shower went around from the feeling the wind started up + blew so since then it has been fine air & cool.
Frank Toomey has been to the next house & Gertrude came over last night & said he wanted to see Mrs. Barry but lacked the courage to come over. He has sung with the crowd many times & with her in the macards[[?]] they are all fond of him. Now he has lost his voice. Mrs. Gebheart is going to take me to ride some time she says. I don't care whether she does or not. I never took to her. Mrs. Barry likes her they are blunt & full of their own conceit & good singers. I like Mrs. Gilger in spite of what other people say. She was a true friend to me in my time of trouble & I never shall forget her. The symphony people where Gilger has always been has raised his salary to five thousand a year, so Laura Gebheart says. & I am glad they are mighty deserving folks. He & Gebheart were great friends from childhood. Mrs. Gilger they make fun of. but she is good hearted just the same. I don't know whether Lena has gone yet. Her sister is here & she was going with her to camp somewhere. We had some company when she came, so she had no time to say much
