I have just bought some apples & find no flavor or juice to them  they were very nice looking so she has to put in vinegar as they are taste less & she puts in water for juice. the Dykemans had no apples this year. I would like some russets, but I guess they would be scarce. Mrs. Osborne brings them when she comes home sometimes. she likes fruit. It is hard for Mrs Cutting she would like to get back no doubt. her son is situated so he cannot have them live with him. it seems hard. they are growing old. a lot here are out of a job. there is no work for them. how are they going to live? thats the problem. not many factories are doing business Belchers shop runs one or two days a week, but they have to be there every day. how long will this situation last. people wont work & not charity  We are this morning patiently waiting to hear the news. it comes on at ten  o'clock. one night it must be the jury have reached a decision by this time, we are anxious to hear the verict. We are having a change of weather, cloudy and snow, the weather reports say. a change may do you good if you feel like it. we are having winter here for some time to come. but in March the frogs peep & robins sometimes appear. we ought to have an early spring. Oh! I hope so winter this year has been sever now its very hard getting around the snow in the last few days has melted just enough to make it very slippery in the middle of the streets everybody goes by very cautious, for fear of slipping down. it was a very white frost over everything. I dont dare hardly to step out with my milk bottle, the steps are white with frost.  Ma
