she has been like a mother to Dorothy. she is a good girl but suffers a lot. she has anginis of the heart & will go sudden some time. Bill helps her & looks out for her while the mother work. she is a great anxiety to her. Mrs O feeds the birds since the snow come, there is a large bird he desires the little juncos & sparrows away, he has a long bill & pounds he reaches down under the snow & hauls up food that the snow has covered up. I think it is a patridge wood pecker, grey. I cant see well enough to tell whether he is spotted or not. we have great sport watching them. Earl came after the mother. he went to turn out on Toomeys corner, to avoid running into the children coasting & got stuck in the snow drift & Bessie had to get out the car & come over to the house to get a shovel to dig out the car. meanwhile Joe came along while he was shoveling it out. he took hold of the car & histed right out. they both came after Mrs. Osborne Joe didn't know that Earl had been able to get his car out, so she asked Joe if he was coming after her he said yes. the two live very far apart. the sun at half past four has just faintly peeked out of a cloud for the first time to day. this should have been candlemass instead of yesterday. to day was the eclipse of the moon so the radio said. I should now think it was of the sun. it has been a lonesome day. I wish there was neighbors to run in once in a while. Alice called up she has a cold & so has Percy. Mrs. Packard is still to her sons visiting. Alice is expecting her to come this week. her son pays two dollars. Brockton cut her pension that much so Alice gets $8. for her board same as she did
