JANUARY 7
Dear Diary, 
School again today. We had songs in the evening. I got $1.00 World of War Stamps today. Dorthy the new girl from New Jersey is with my W.A.F.C. We walked home again from the Cairn Highway. We have collected $9:10 in ice cream and candy, mostly ice cream. Today it is cold, but not as cold as yesterday.

JANUARY 8
Dear Diary, 
Today it was school again. Dorthy and I are better friends every day. We (Evelyn and myself) sold 3:00 worth of candy and cakes today now we have $12.10. Joe S worked today they (Norse [[?]], uncle Jim, half a day) shucked corn. That is all I know dear Diary for today. We walked home to day. It was snow on the ground today, from last night.

JANUARY 9
Dear Diary,
Today it was school again. We only had half a day because it was Saturday. Dorthy wasn't here today. It was cold outside. We walked home. Today Evelyn and Myself counted up the money for the store & we had $27.00. We are going to sell paper & pencils at school to, sometime. The Dr. wasn't at school today. Franklin got the [[?]] teat yesterday. But Robert didn't The Dr. wasn't at school today. Franklin got the Diptevener September test yesterday, but Robert didn't. The Dr. was and army Dr. and he was every pretty. He is was about 40.

January 10
Dear Diary, 
Today it snowed very hard at some times. No one was here today, but Mr. Rabbit Tayman and he got some arnisto [[??]] for Daddy. We had Duck for dinner. Daddy took some wood to someone in Brandywine Hights [[Heights]]. The boys went with Daddy
