Today was Wed. and still hot as blazes. Daddy to corner. Mother got only 15 eggs today a big drop. Lots of stars tonight.

AUGUST 5

Today was Thur. and hot again. Daddy, Franklin + Robert Lee to Brandywine. Mother got 21 eggs today a little better than yesterday.

AUGUST 6

Today was Friday and still hot. Daddy + boys to Brandywine again today. Mother got only 19 eggs today.
