Today was Friday and still hot.  The men stripped tobacco today.  Mother got 17 eggs today and was she glad she got more than she did yesterday.

AUGUST 28

Today was Saturday.  Daddy sold two sheep today.  Mother got some baby chickens today.  Daddy went to West Wood today.  Mother got only 11 eggs today.

AUGUST 29

Today is Sunday.  Uncle Gantt and family were here for the day.  Brent Early & wife & Mrs. Neal here for a little while in afternoon.  Mother got 11 eggs today.  Uncle Gantt brought Mother some peaches

Today was Monday.  Mother canned peaches all day today.  Mother got 11 eggs today.
