January 2 

1944 - Uncle Grutt and family, Aunt Katie and Cousin Anna to spent the day. No eggs again today. Church & Sunday School

1945 - Tuesday. Aunt Katie, Mr. Dick. Cold. hauled hay. Mother washed today.

1946 - Wednesday - Daddy & boys out - cold and windy.

1947 - Thursday. Daddy & boys out in afternoon. cold out. Heard "Henry Aldridge" & etc.

1948 - Friday. rained & snowed today. very cold out. took down Xmas tree. Heard usual radio programs.

January 3 

1944 - School opened today but we did not go because it rained all day. No eggs today. Daddy ear is no better. 

1945 - School opened today. no clubs. play Oxen Hill tomorrow in baseball. cool out. Miss. Freeman not here. Miss Davis took her place.

1946 - Thursday and school. cold didn't have clubs today. Miss Berkowitz left to teach at Brandywine, getting a man teacher from Army 6 ft 1 in.

1947 - Friday. cold out. Daddy & boys out. Evelyn Oliver's father killed today. Rabbit Layman in afternoon.

1948 - Saturday. Daddy & boys out in morning. Coal out. Heard usual radio programs.
