p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Roosevelt 
elected to run against Dewey
1945 Friday. clear with no 
rain today. stripped tobacco. 
Franklin bild [built] me some 
bookends.
1946 Saturday. Daddy & boys out. very hot. storm in afternoon.
1947 Sunday. Uncle Charlie & Aunt Lucy 
went back with them. hot.

JULY 21
1944- Friday. Convention on 1:30 p.m. 
to 9:22 p.m. last day. Truman 
elected vice president. Senator Scott 
Lucas of Ill. in campain [[? campaign?]]
1945 Saturday. hot with [[?]]
in the afternoon. Daddy & boys
to [[?]] man came in to see about 
calf daddy out again drunk.
1946 Sunday. Uncle Charlie, Aunt 
Lucy & Miss Ashley. went 
home with them. very hot.
1947 Monday. rained all day. didn't 
go any place.
