1944- Friday. started to school today. Only 16 people in my room. Got in 8A. got out at 10:30 A.M. very cold. Donald not here today.

1945 - Saturday. To Dr. Badens he pulled my tooth, and it hurt like hell!! Daddy didn't go out today.

1946 - Hot. Sunday. all except Mom to church, had a very good day reader. Mase & Robert. Daddy & boys gone all day. Daddy drunk. Monday, rained off 7 on all day. Daddy & Frank took Bernie to Maggie's. Dyson & Aggie afternoon heard [[?]] - Lynch"
