Sunday
Good day all day and sun shinning. Three different people came to see about buying lard today. Mother and daddy to Brent Earlys in the afternoon.I went up to Bob Vias to see him for a while. Washed my car.  Writing in green because Red has run out (Ball Point Pen)

MARCH 20
Monday
Good day all day, but raining towards night. Robert and I went to school, carried 1 ton of Hay to Boswell at Chiltelan [?] in afternoon. [[?]] cleaning around daddy's land. I made some candy at night and did homework, then went to bed.

March 19—1860—William Jennings Bryan born in Salem,Ill. 
1879—Normal schools established in France.
1886—Geronimo and his band of Apaches surrendered in Arizona.

March 20—1616—Sir Walter Raleigh released from prison.
1782—Guillotine adopted in France for capital punishment.
1840—Louis Napoleon became president of French Republic.

MARCH 21
Tuesday
Good day all day. Robert and I went to school. I cut the top of my hand open and had to have it bandaged up. Mrs. Grogan came and ordered 1/2 ton of straw and we are going to carry it up there tomorrow. Called Judy up from Earls at night. Took Mary to Quinn picture. Men stripped tobacco all day.

MARCH 22
Wednesday
Rainy day all day. Robert and I went to school. Saw Judy at school. started putting barn up. went to school. called Judy up at night. Alan called Barbara V. up at night after supper ask her for date for saturday. carried 1/2 ton of straw to Mr. Swan in the afternoon.
