April 16
Sunday
Good day sunny and hot.  Mary went to church, daddy carried her. Mary, Mother, Daddy & I went to Annapolis to see some of Mothers friends.  called Judy up 4 Different times but she was not at home so they said. Robert & I to movies at Waldorf (Riding High) got home 11 P.M.

April 17
Monday
Good day all day. Robert and I stayed home to work .  I carried daddy to Washington to get blood tested got back at dinner time. spread lime and harrowed it in.  woods on fire over by hay [[?]] called Judy up at night. went to see Bob Via at night.    


April 16 - 1862 - France declared war on Juarez in Mexico.
           1889 - Telegraph poles ordered abolished in N. Y. City.
           1914 - "Gen" Coxey began second march of his army of unemployed from Ohio to Washington, D. C.

April 17 - 1610 - Henry Hudson sailed on his last voyage.
           1904 - Great fire at Toronto: $10,000,000 loss.
           1906 - Statue of Benjamin Franklin unveiled in Paris.

April 18
Tuesday
Good day all day.  Robert and I stayed home and [[?]] tobacco beds and spread lime.  Went to see about buying buldozer at [[?]]. 
Have spread 30 tons of lime so far. 23 more tons to go. collect Judy up at night. got 35 gallons gas for tractor. hot day and dusty.

April 19 
Wednesday
Good day all day Robert went to school. I stayed home and spread lime and harrowed it in. hot 84 degrees. called Judy up at night.  Bob Via, Kent Ralings and Robert went fishing at night.  Mary and I went to Waldorf to the movies to see "Hamlet". (good) got home 11:30 P.M.

April 18 - 1775 - Paul Revere rode to rouse the colonial farmers.
            1906 - San Francisco almost destroyed by earthquake and fire: $400,000,000 loss.
            1909 - Joan of Arc beatified by the R. C. Church.

April 19 - 1775 - Battle of Lexington - "the shot heard round the world" beginning the Revolutionary War; celebrated as Patriots' Day in Maine and Massachusetts.
           1882 - Charles Darwin, evolutionist, died.
           1906 - Prof. Curie, discoverer of radium, died.
