JULY 29
Saturday Good day all day, raked up hay before dinner & [[piled?]] baled hay in loft, baled up 147 bales after dinner & put in barn, finished baleing over on other place, up to see Adina Mae at night, she got her [[crossed out]] [?] [[/crossed out]] hair cut. Daddy, Robert & I to La Plata & got hair cut. Adina Mae [[?]] [[?]] after hair and got home from up there [[?]] [[?]] [[?]] [[?]]

JULY 30
Sunday
Good day all day. Daddy, Robert, Mary + I went to church. then all of us went up to see [[Cha??]] [[?]] at Boonsboro, Md. got back 6 oclock 168 miles up there + back Mary, Robert, Bob + I went to Movies at night. saw "My [[?]] [[?]] Goes West." saw Adina Mae

JULY 31
Monday good day all day but hot. cut grass out of potatoes and tobacco all day. Robert + I went to Washington before dinner, [[Chad?]] [[Layman?]] came + got [[?]] of hay. Mary to work as usual, did not go anywhere at night, but to bed.

AUGUST 1
Tuesday good day all day. hacked tobacco in morning + carried load of tobacco to Marlboro in afternoon. I worked [[corn?]] in afternoon. Went up to see Adina Mae but went to Movies with Bob [[?]] saw "The [[Sundowns?]]" got home 11:30 clock. Adina Mae also.
